Reliable IT and network foundations for small businesses

Wi-Fi that stays up in a full waiting room. Backups that restore. Cabling you can follow. We specialize in Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti UniFi — and still support the other brands already in your closet. Enterprise-grade results for dental, medical, real estate, and professional offices, at small-business scale.

One person you can actually reach

On-site, not a ticket queue

Problems we solve

The network should be the least interesting part of your day

Services

Foundations first, then the extras that actually help

Network & Wi-Fi design and setup

Floor-plan coverage on Cisco Meraki or Ubiquiti UniFi — separate staff and guest networks, sized for your rooms, not a big-box starter kit.

Firewalls, switching, and security

Preferred stacks: Cisco Meraki and UniFi gateways and switches. We also work with Fortinet, SonicWall, Aruba, and TP-Link Omada when that is already in the closet or a better fit.

Structured cabling and low-voltage

Cat6 drops, patch panels, clean closets, and labeling so the next person (or you) can find a port without guessing.

Security camera planning and placement

Cameras that actually see the door, the lot, and the hall — typically Meraki MV or UniFi Protect — plus the network they need to stay online.

Servers, backups, and migrations

Practice-management servers (including Open Dental), Dell towers, Synology or QNAP NAS, extra storage, and snapshot or replication backups before anything is moved.

Managed IT and monitoring

Ongoing care, patching, and AI-assisted infrastructure and security audits so small issues show up before they become a Monday morning crisis.

How it works

Simple on purpose

  1. 01

    Free consultation

A short call or visit. You describe what is breaking. We tell you, honestly, whether we are a fit.

  2. 02

    On-site assessment

We walk the space, photograph the closet, test Wi-Fi, and write down what you have — not what a brochure promised.

  3. 03

    Build and clean up

Cabling, firewall, Wi-Fi, servers, cameras. Work is scheduled around patients and customers, not the other way around.

  4. 04

    Ongoing care

Optional monitoring and a person who already knows your network when something beeps.

Case study

A dental practice, rebuilt from the closet out

A busy practice needed more than a new access point. NetworkBits redesigned the network and low-voltage plant, ran about 35 structured cabling drops, migrated the practice-management server with a drive expansion, stood up replication and snapshot backups, and put Cisco Meraki firewall and switching at the edge — the same class of design we also deliver on Ubiquiti UniFi when that is the better fit.

Why NetworkBits

Local and hands-on, with the same seriousness as a larger shop

Khoi Pham does the work

No account manager handing you to a stranger. You get the person who designed the closet and knows which patch panel is which.

Plain English

Owners of practices and shops should not need a glossary. We explain options, risks, and cost in the same language you use with your own clients.

Right-sized gear

Cisco Meraki or Ubiquiti UniFi as the two preferred platforms, plus labeled cabling — not a consumer router in a coat closet, and not a data-center bill for a six-chair office.

Questions we hear a lot

Do you only work with dental offices?

No. Dental and medical practices are a sweet spot because of servers, imaging, and HIPAA-minded networks — but we also help real estate teams, professional offices, and small retail.

How much does it cost?

The IT Foundations Assessment and Managed IT retainers have placeholder prices on this site until they are finalized. Project work (cabling, cameras, migrations) is quoted after we see the space. You will get a written number before anything is ordered.

Are you a big help desk with a ticket portal?

No. NetworkBits is a one-person consultancy run by Khoi Pham. You talk to the person who will actually do the work. That is the point.

Do you come on-site?

Yes for local work. Planning, monitoring, and some troubleshooting can be remote. The service area note in the footer will be confirmed before launch.

Will you take over our existing computers and software?

We work with what you already have whenever it is sound. If something needs replacing, we will say so in the assessment — not as a surprise on install day.

Is this 24/7 emergency support?

Managed IT includes defined response windows, not a global security operations center. If you need after-hours coverage, we will say what is realistic for a small practice before you sign.

Which equipment brands do you work with?

We specialize in Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti (UniFi) and will recommend one or the other depending on budget and needs. We also support other gear already in the office — Fortinet, SonicWall, Aruba, TP-Link Omada, Synology or QNAP NAS, and Dell servers among them. You are not locked into a house brand.

Do you sell hardware?

We specify and can procure the right firewalls, access points, switches, cameras, and cable. You can buy through us or elsewhere; the design is what matters.
